Hello and happy New Year!

I hope you all had a wonderful, relaxing time over Christmas. Ours was quite hectic, we spent a lot of it in the car making sure to visit all the necessary family. In the space of a week I was in Burnley, Surrey, Sussex, the Cotswolds and London! It was lovely to see everyone but by the end of it we were pretty exhausted! Anyway, I thought we could do a little December roundup and a 2024 reflection.

Eating out

December was full of festivities, lots of Christmas dinners and parties catching up with my old school friends at a pub in Belgravia. The food was somewhat mediocre but the vibes were impeccable! I went to Woldingham School in Surrey and I am still in touch with my friends there. There are about 20 of us on a Whatsapp group chat and we never fail to see each other at least 4 to 5 times a year (which may not sound like a lot but when you are coordinating 20 odd people it feels rather triumphant!). We tend to regress into our childish ways when we reunite and the evenings are always full of lots of fun and laughter.

I had a team Christmas dinner with the incredible duo behind Nats Nourishments. They have become my very close friends and we often make any excuse to go out for a meal! This time we tried the newly infamous Crisp Pizza W6, it’s just set back from the river in Hammersmith, in a very classic style pub. You have to pre-order your dough either through Instagram DM’s or a Whatsapp number (found on their profile) and when you arrive, it’s every man for themselves. No actual table reservations you just have to hope to get lucky or it’s a takeaway pizza for you.

After a very confusing (and possibly somewhat embarrassingly self-righteous) conversation with one of the staff, the no table reservation rule became clear and we had to linger at the bar for a short 20 minutes or so before someone gave up the prized possession that was a small table in the corner by the fire with 3 stools. Perfect.

The pizza was delicious, there is no doubting it.
